The Zoning Board of Adjustment was created by the Village Council with the adoption of Ordinance 90-7 (Zoning Ordinance for the Village of Clemmons). Authority is granted to the Zoning Board of Adjustment, which acts as a judicial board, through North Carolina General Statutes 160A-388. The Board hears cases involving certain defined special use permits and variances.
The Board is composed of 5 regular members and 2 alternate members appointed by the Village Council each serving staggered three-year terms. New appointments are made in June of each year for those terms that expire.
Interested citizens are encouraged to apply for vacancies on this board. Call 336-766-7511 for more information or apply by completing the Board Application.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment has adopted rules of procedure that are consistent with the provisions specified in N.C.G.S and Clemmons development regulations. Click here for the current adopted rules of procedures.
